CELBRATIONS AND FESTIVITIES
(As according to Lunar Calendar)WORSHIP OF PROSPERITY BUDDHA (Eve of Lunar New Year)
Welcoming of the Prosperity Buddha starts from 11pm on the Eve of Lunar New Year and worship till the Fifteen Day of the Lunar New Year.
During this period, devotees can pray for peace and properity and receive a 'Hongbao' and a pair of oranges.
On the Fifteen Day fo the lunar New Year, devotees are encouraged to pray for peace and prosperity for the family throughout the year and bring home asuspicious itms like "Sugar Lions", "Huat Kway", etc.
1st SPRING FESTIVAL "TOU YA" (2nd Day of Lunar New Year)
1st of annual prayers to ancestors
Members and devotees are encouraged to participate in the celebration.
CHAP NGO MEH - YUAN SEOW JEH (15th Day of Lunar New Year)
Celebrating the last day of Lunar New Year.
Members and devotees are encouraged to participate to pray for prosperity for the rest of the Lunar New Year.
BIRTHDAY CELEBRATION OF "TUA PEK KONG" (2nd Day of 2nd Lunar Month)
Members and devotees are encouraged to take part in the celebration.
There will be a Teochew Opera Singing Troupe performing on this day.
CHING MENG FESTIVAL - QING MING JIE (4th/5th of April)
Prayers and chanting for ancestors throughout the entire CHING MENG period.
Members and devotees can bring their own offerings for their ancestors.
SUMMER FESTIVAL - Xia Ji (15th Day of 4th Lunar Month - Vesak Day)
Chanting, Offerings and "raising" of new ancestor tablets to their respective position will be conducted during this day.
Members and devotees are encouraged to participate in the celebration.
BIRTHDAY CELEBRATION OF OUR MEDICINE DEITY "HUA TUO" (18th Day of 4th Lunar Month)
Members and devotees are encouraged to participate in the celebration.
DUMPLING FESTIVAL - DUAN WU JIE (5th Day of 4th Lunar Month)
Prayers and offering of dumplings to ancestors.
Members and devotees are encouraged to participate in the celebration.
BIRTHDAY CELEBRATION OF KSHITIGARBHA BODHISATTVA & SEVENTH MONTH FESTIVAL (Last Quarter of 7th Lunar Month)
Celebrating the Holy Birthday of Kshitigarbha Bodhisattva and offerings to ancestors and all souls during 7th Month Festival.
The chanting of Ullambana-cum-Sutra will be conducted.
Members and devotees are encouraged to participate in the celebration.
MID AUTUMN FESTIVAL - ZHONG QIU JIE (15th Day of 8th Lunar Month)
Prayers and Offerings of mooncakes to ancestor.
Members and devotees are encouraged to participate in the celebration.
WINTER FESTIVAL - DONG JI (Last Quarter of 10th Lunar Month)
Chanting, Offerings and raising of ancestor tablets to their respective position during this festival.
Members and devotees are encouraged to participate in the festival.
BIRTHDAY CELEBRATION OF GRAND MASTER SONG DA FONG (Last Quarter of 10th Lunar Month)
There will be a 2 day Teochew opera performance and prayers will be conducted throughout these 2 days for ancestors and families for peace and prsperity.
Members and devotees are encouraged to participate in the celebration.
WINTER SOLSTICE - DONGZHI (22nd/23rd of December)
Prayers and offering of sweet dumplings "TANG YUAN" to ancestors.
Members and devotees are encouraged to participate in the celebration.
